About
Jacob Brookes-Clayton is a Manchester-based filmmaker working across writing, directing, and production. After studying film at Manchester Metropolitan University, he spent several years travelling and working across Europe, a period he considers formative in terms of perspective and material. He has always been clear that filmmaking was the destination.
He moved to Amsterdam to work in production at Tungsten Studio, building hands-on experience across commercial, branded, and television work. Embedded in Amsterdam's creative scene through a five-year residency at WOW Arts, he developed his writing practice and produced collaborative work across disciplines.
Wounds, his debut film as writer, director, and producer, was funded by AFK, shot across 12 Amsterdam locations, and screened at Lab111 and Sala X in Madrid. His second film, Gritstone, is in pre-production with Aperture attached.
